Leaving from the North location at Petro Can on 97 street and 164 avenue. Departure at 10 o'clock so come early for coffee and breakfast if you choose but mostly to visit with new people. We're headed for a trip around Elk Island Park and a stop at a local town TBA for gas and a beer and a burger. A good time will be had by all with some comfortable riding. See you Sunday! Don't miss out.

Please bring a National Parks Pass if you have one. My pass will cover five or six riders.  we will visit Elk Island for a light walk, visit about and then proceed to Lamont. Hope the one spot in town is open. derek

The one pub in Lamont is not open on Sundays.  How about New Alberta Pub 5034 50th St. Vegreville, nice menu.  I found it on restaurantguru.com.

Thanks for this information. I will reset route to Vegreville.  weather is a little dicey for Sunday. we will meet as agreed and look skyward at that time.  hope to see you all. I leave next week for Dawson City and Bon Echo Park in Ontario. just my little usual summer wander!

I have a friend that just flew in on Wednesday. So I've had to miss the last coffee and this Sunday ride. Disappointed!

ok folks Sunday looks just fine, pack warm, rain gear and be ready for a nice easy ride.
along the back roads to a secondary south to Vegreville. lunch and or with a beer and then back road back to Tofield.  From Tofield it is 14 to the "Handy". the Anthony Henday. once back for now we will be all splitting up to go where we will go.

I have the route but am open to suggestions. thank you all.

One more suggestion Derek.  Angie and I checked out the Vegreville pub today and found lousy service and not so tasty burgers.  Angie had a bad reaction.  How about a place in Ryley on highway 14 in between Bruce and Tofield?  It's called Ryley Grand Central Pub at 5015 49th Ave. 780-663-3797?  Or we could to to Boston Pizza in Veg. or the lousy pub where at least the beer was cold.

June 9 ride had it all, great weather, quick cold rain, good roads, unexpected construction and for the most part very little traffic.
HOWEVER we did not find an open pub anywhere along the way so we all went home hungry, thirsty and a little miffed, we had some attrition along the way, weather and health related. I hope everyone got home safely.

there was a tandem trailer fuel delivery semi vrs older motorhome accident at the Esso station on Highway 14 in Tofield. we all watched the semi pull out of the station after filling their underground tanks. the second trailer cut the front end apart on a motorhome parked and filling with gas. the truck kept on going despite popping the motorhome into a gas fuel pump   the police were called and I stayed behind to give a police report. I completed the report, gave it to the motorhome owner to give to the RCMP and away I went, in and out of the rain. I am home safe and home everyone else is

next weekend I will be on the big road for the summer. have a great summer all and I will keep in touch via this forum.
love and peace to us all

yes we had a good ride, weather got in the way at the end, such is life. here a picture of the Elk Island Park walking road blocks!

Plus the always interesting Carhenge, an ancient first nations artifact near Lamont.
