Hi Riders: any interest in joining Edmonton and Area Motorcycle Riders run to Watson Lake Yukon the first week of June? I would love to have a couple or more Syders on this run. Our bikes are a monster touring machine, one of the best. Interested?

plan is to leave Friday June 5, run highway 43 to Grande Prairie, to Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson to Watson Lake Yukon to Whitehorse Yukon then an overnight jaunt down to Skagway Alaska USA. We are looking at a week to 9 days.  We would overnight in Dawson Creek or Grande Prairie, then one or two days in Watson Lake, one or two days in Whitehorse, overnight in Skagway and then begin the long jaunt homeward. early June is cooler, less traffic and usually less bugs. Kids are still in school so less traffic, or so the books say.

The Edmonton and Area Motorcycle Riders on http://www.meetup.com are planning this ride. so far there are two confirmed, me and the sponsor. we are flexible on the dates but the we prefer early June for the less traffic reasons.
gas is available all along the route but will be expensive. I will be carrying a spare 5 litre container, suggest we all do.
accommodations are variable. so far we two are not opposed to and are planning on camping. we will use hotels, motels, etc as weather dictates.

we prefer to make time on the way out and dilly dally on the way back.
roads are all paved and usually in good shape, better than Maritime Canada roads. Newfoundland roads are rough me boy, rough!!
bikes should be serviced and ready to go before hitting this road.
hopefully this helps

Watson Lake Ride is still on. Lots of information, chatter, discussion about this ride on http://www.meetup.com and EAMRG Edmonton and Area Motorcycle Riders Group.

THere is some discussion about extending the ride to Whitehorse Yukon and then down to Skagway Alaska for a day or two. This would extend the trip to 10 days. Not all riders are able to get this extra time off. The retired guy, me, will be extended the trip. If I stay home my wife will only keep filling the honeydo jar!

up date information, Sunday May 17.  this ride is still  on. we are working on adjusting start date forward from Sunday June 7 to Friday June 5. this would add a full weekend to the ride and make it easier for some of us to make Whitehorse and back in Friday to following Sunday time line. more details  to follow. however there has not been any firm I am coming from my fellow spyder riders.

May 27. Yukon ride still a go. Road, construction and wild fires are all being monitored. No problems so far. 4 to 5 riders going. Only one Spyder, the Great Grasshopper Gobbler is on for this run. Someone has to show those Ducatti, BMW what a bke is!
